God and contrast……?

Friends the question posed to me was why am I ascribing things to God that the bible does not? Secondly why would God need contrast? And thirdly does this contrast with evil define him, meaning God. Well what can I say more than has already been said? I am not ascribing anything more than the bible for there in he created all on earth as in heaven. Therefore what has been ascribed that is not in his word? Secondly the contrast is not for Gods sake but our own. God has no need for contrast but for our sake it is here. Like I said in order for us to perceive the difference there has to be a difference. With no difference where is the ability to think, act, and choose of our own accord? Now thirdly in respect to the question that does evil define God….it does not but, it definitely makes us more aware of his presence when we are trapped in a period of darkness and he brings in the light to show us a better way. I hope this cleared up your questions and if not please….let me know and I will do my best to explain in a better way. Love to all and May God bless!!

Dear Sir.

Thank you for answering my questions. Herein lies the problem with what you are saying, however.

Ascribing to God, the creation of evil:
1. God created all THINGS (Genesis 1-2; Colossians 1:16).

2. Evil (i.e. sin) was not created because it is action and was brought into this world by MAN not God (Romans 5:12; Genesis 3).
3. If God created evil, He would be lying when He says via inspiration, "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:" James 1:13. And therefore, since God does not lie (Hebrews 6:16-19; James 1:17) and His word is truth (John 17:17), I have to believe Him when He says that MAN brought evil (i.e. sin) into this world.

3. If man brought evil into this world, and not God, then one who says God created evil is ascribing to God what the Bible (and thus God) does not.

Why would God need contrast and does this contrast with evil define Him as God?
1. The short answer is He doesn't.
2. God existed before any was there to contrast Him with (Genesis 1:1)
3. God created this world without evil in it (Genesis 1:31), therefore, there was nothing contrast Him with in this world, He simply existed and still exists God.
4. Therefore, He needs no contrast because He is God.

I repeat my earlier question: "So then, I have one last question for you. "What purpose does it serve, to say that God, who is pure and good and has no shadow of turning (James 1:17), created evil when His track record proves otherwise?"(May 3, 2008)."

I'm also hopeful that it helps to see that even if we don't always understand the wherefore and whathaveyou of something putting the 'blame' on an innocent party doesn't solve the problem, nor does it make it necessarily true. God did not create evil. The Bible speaks of Satan as the 'author' of lies, murder, and evil things--God is holy and pure. My puzzlement is why is it necessary to impugn the holiness of God, and why is it important to any one to force something on God that isn't true? (for example why is it important for you or me,or anyone, to accept the idea that God created evil?) I'm just trying to understand. Why is it important to anyone to force God with the blame for evil? Jesus was totally innocent, sinless, and perfect He paid a price for you and me. Unless, as it has been said, God created the sin in the first place. If God created sin, then He had the obligation to remove it, and then Jesus didn't pay the price He deserved it. How shameful is that? Matt. 12:31 "Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven." I think if I were contagious one I would be more careful with my insistence on something that is so disgusting, and contrary to scripture.

Christian anonymous: When God creatad the law he gave us two choices good or evil, right? just because satan is the athor of evil things does not mean he created it. if you write a book does that mean you created books? agreed that man brought sin into this world on the human level but the tree of knowledge of good and evil was in the garden before man was.
